The lobby entrance remains locked at all times. You will receive an access code at the top of your confirmation email which you will use to gain access to the property upon arrival.

Check-in and check-out are available 24 hrs / day.

Standard check-in time is 3:00 p.m. and check-out is 11:00 a.m. We are flexible and will do our best to accomodate early arrivals and late departures.

The Hotel Sterling is staffed during regular business hours on weekdays. At all other times, staff is available by phone to help with any requests.

All common areas are under 24 hr surveillance.

It was not possible to incorporate an elevator into the Hotel Sterling’s 150 year old structure during the renovation. However, all stair systems were newly constructed thus are wide and easy to navigate. ‘Curbside’ suites are barrier free and located on the first floor for those who do not wish to navigate steps.

When you check in, you can expect a minimum of 1 ½ hrs was spent to clean your suite so you can enjoy the cleanest environment possible. Materials such as hardwood flooring and leather furniture were chosen not only for their beauty but also for the ability to maintain impeccably clean surfaces.

We have eliminated daily cleaning and enter the suite once per week for cleaning service. If your stay is less than a week, we are happy to accommodate special requests.

Hotel Sterling is a refuge for professionals. Potential guests should understand Hotel Sterling is a place to work and relax in a quiet, peaceful environment. We discourage individual or group reservations who’s intent is to use the Hotel as a socializing location, it is not. Our location Downtown provides a variety of opportunities for socializing while Hotel Sterling is reserved for rest.

Each of our suites is has superior accomodations including leather furniture, hardwood floors, and marble baths

Each suite is furnished with a 3½’x5’ work table so there is plenty of room for your computer and papers. Of course, wireless internet access is available throughout the facility for your convenience.

The area offers a range of outside fitness activities including walking, running and biking paths.

Bicycle rentals are available at Jack’s Bike in Downtown, just a couple blocks away. The Heritage Trail leads from the Downtown River Walk to Sterling State Park on Lake Erie. Bike paths also lead west from Downtown to Munson Park for mountain biking trails. Jack’s Bike will be happy to help you find the right route for your taste!

For indoor fitness activity, tennis and swimming, we suggest the YMCA located nearby. A one day pass as well as longer term rates are available at very reasonable prices.

Ample parking is available within steps to the front and rear entrances of the Hotel facility. Because we are in the heart of Downtown, all parking is public on-street parking. There area is well lit and very safe. There is no time limit on parking for Hotel Sterling guests. In the event of a parking ticket, the violation is voided through a program with the local Police Dept.

A business center with internet connected computer, printer and copier is available to guests free of charge. Faxing is also available on request.
